Today I am thankful for the escarpment. The thing that makes Thirroul so amazing is that we have an amazing escarpment-it gives us a feeling of protection and is isolating enough to give our little town a "village" feel to it. Walking up in the escarpment was a great way to spend an afternoon. It's not to far from my house and it had finally cooled down enough for me to think about heading outdoors. A few years ago fire had torn through here and there are still a few black trees to remind us of that, but now it was so lovely and green, full of new growth. Although the fire was devastating at the time the escarpment is much more beautiful because of it. Sometimes, this may seem like our lives, like everything has been ruined and devastated, however after the devastation there is a way for renewal that leaves everything richer, fuller and better.
