day 57

Today I am thankful for my friendly children. My children would talk the ear off anyone who would listen. They are loving that most people up here are on holidays and have the time to listen to the ramblings and questions of a 5 year old. Today we went to a small cafe to shelter out the rain. The cafe had a few bench seats around the outside, but the middle was a massive table to sit around, you could easily fit 12 people around it. There were a few couples sitting at the table, all minding their own business enjoying their coffees when in blew the 'hurricane Harvey's" within a few mintues the boys managed to draw everyone on the table into a conversation and had all the girls eating out of the palm of their hands. It was great to see how easily kids can draw eveyone together and it was also great the see how unaware of kids are of our perceived social barriers. The other thing I was thankful for today was that when we were walking down the road a guy came up and asked us for some money for food. We gave him some thinking that he probably wasn't going to buy food! But when we were in the cafe there he was!! I was glad that we had helped him out.
