Today I am thankful for recipe books. Although I have vowed to never buy another recipe book I am so thankful to already have this one: Stephanie Alexander's "the cooks companion". It has anything you would ever really need to cook and I can always trust trust the recipe to come out exactly right. Tonight I used it to make a mayonnaise which a gorgeous friend used to make the most fabulous vege stack. It was the sort of meal you could quite possibly live on forever!!

Today I am thankful for some time all to myself. Darryn is out and all the kids are asleep and am spending some much needed time with me!! I love it when I get a night all to myself and don't have to share anything with anyone. While I wouldn't like to be by myself every night, every once in a while it is bliss.

Today I am thankful for love. It is valentines day, which although a bit corny is always a good excuse for some romance. I got a lovely bunch of roses and an extra helpful husband all day. I am a lucky girl to have such a great husband. He really is one of a kind, he's a great friend, faithful, passionate (mostly about food!!) I think the best Dad in the world, (except maybe my dad) a hard worker, loves Jesus, and the best part is that everyday he wakes up he aims to make our marriage better.....which makes a VERY happy me!!!!

Today I am thankful for family. We had a great day today walking through the rainforest at to a lovely waterfall with the kids my parents and brother. It was such a lovely walk up to a waterfall & the rain made the waterfall spectacular. It was nice sharing it with family. I am truly blessed to have such a cruisy laid back family where there is no drama, just fun and friendship!

Today I am thankful for pompoms. At the library today I found a great little craft book of Steiner toys. It has so many simple little toys in there that I had forgotten existed! They are so easy and simple and I think Israel will love them. I posted up this afternoon with a book and some wool and started a pompon for him and I am just about finished. I hope he likes it and I can't wait to get stuck into more cute little toys. The book is called 'creative play for your baby' by Christopher Clouder and Janni Nicol if anyone is interested.

Day 34

Today I am thankful for the little things in life. Today I got a double yolk egg. I have no idea why I was thankful for this, but it was unexpected and it really made me feel happy! I got thinking that it is so often the little things that happen that make up a great day. I guess that is why it is good to keep an eye out for the little things, cause in the end they all add up.

Today I am thankful for mud. The boys were so quiet so I thought I would leave them to play a little longer before bed, then they walked inside with wet, muddy pj's! They had so much fun & although I would not have let them play in the mud right before bed, they had fun and it wasn't too bad to tidy up. I bet when they grow up they will not remember if they got into bed on time(or clean) but they will remember playing in the mud, and having fun, so that is why I am thankful, hopefully they created a memory.
