day 5

Today I am thankful for time. Time to stop and smell the roses. After the hectic time that Christmas brings, January is such a lovely slow and relaxed month. Our time in January is spent with the kids, heading to the beach, going for lovely walks and enjoying just spending 'time' with each other and great friends. I was gardening this morning and thought- how thankful I was for the roses...when I realised, no, I am actually thankful for the time to stop and smell the roses, to finally not be rushing anywhere, without a massive list of things to do.

day 4

Today I am thankful for unexpected sleep ins. After a string of restless nights and early mornings, imagine my suprise to wake up to a silent house. Darryn had taken the boys to work and Israel had taken full advantage of the quiet house for his own sleep in.

day 3

Today I am thankful for chicken stock. Crazy I know! I wish that smell- o- vision existed because if it did you would see why ( actually smell why) I am thankful for my stock. The smell is permeating through the house, it smells so homely and comforting. Now I am busy thinking of yummy things I can cook with it.

day 2

Today I am thankful for green grass.
It's not that long since my oldest boy asked us "what is all the green?" it was grass......he had been born in the middle of a drought- and we were on holidays driving past some lush green dairy farms. For a long time he thought that grass was brown. These days the grass is back green and I hope we don't ever have teach our children the 'real' colour of grass again.

day 1

So really it should be 365 reasons to be thankful, but I am running a little late.....as usual

Today I am thankful for bread....for years my oldest son has been unable to eat bread, now finally I have found a bread which appears to agree with him-just in time for school lunches starting in just a few weeks time!
