Today I am thankful for Thirroul. I absolutely love the town we live in. Nestled between the mountains and ocean it really is a special place. We love the beach and this kiosk is a great place to escape with some paperwork, soaking up the sun and atmosphere while trying to get some work done. This morning the fog rolled down over the mountains and settled for a while and it really looked very magical.

Today I am thankful for creativity. Ok, so I should not have left the craft box unattended, but when Orlando found it and painted glue all over his hands & poured 4 bottles of glitter onto his hands, table and floor, I was suprised that I was not kranky at the gigantic mess he had created! With an attitude of thankfullness I was able to be happy for him, hopefully nuturing his creativity, rather than crushing it.


(Now I need to go and vacuum)

Today I am thankful for little things, that usually would go unnoticed. Walking down the street these little succulants were growing out of a crack in the pavement. I would never hsve seen them if I wasn't keeping my eye out for something special.

Today I am thankful for baby birds.


We have a mother & baby wattle birds coming to feed on this lovely gravillea just out our front door. I have been trying to get a photo of the baby wattle bird, but it is just way to fast for me. The mother has been feeding on these flowers for a while now, then 10 days ago the baby appeared. It is short, fat and fluffy! Today is the first day I have seen the baby without it's mother. Have you ever noticed that the same birds visit your trees everyday? Try and keep a look out & you'll probably notice the same ones all the time, when you notice them, remember to be thankful for them.

Today I am thankful for the escarpment. The thing that makes Thirroul so amazing is that we have an amazing escarpment-it gives us a feeling of protection and is isolating enough to give our little town a "village" feel to it. Walking up in the escarpment was a great way to spend an afternoon. It's not to far from my house and it had finally cooled down enough for me to think about heading outdoors. A few years ago fire had torn through here and there are still a few black trees to remind us of that, but now it was so lovely and green, full of new growth. Although the fire was devastating at the time the escarpment is much more beautiful because of it. Sometimes, this may seem like our lives, like everything has been ruined and devastated, however after the devastation there is a way for renewal that leaves everything richer, fuller and better. John 14.6

Today I am thankful for my cruisy baby! Everyday I am most thankful for my kids, but until today have resisted the urge to write about them......(I easily could fill a million blogs with cute little things they do, or little ways they brighten my day).
When Israel fell asleep in his playpen, right on top of the book he was looking at, I could resist no more... Here is my lovely baby who really is a little ray of sunshine in our lives!

day 7

Today I am thankful for shady trees. Sitting down at the park on such a hot day, it was total bliss under the shade of a tree. That lovely tree meant that we could stay there and relax and not have to hurry home for fear of sunburn. Maybe we should all go and plant a tree so that the next generations also have lovely shady trees to shelter under.
